Rule Changes for 2013:
The NJHSA Executive Board has made some important changes to our rules and specifications for the 2013 Show Year. Download our current specs here. Please be aware of the following:
Two-Tiered Points System: Effective December 1, 2012, points will be awarded on a two-tiered system. Unrecognized shows will continue to earn points based on the standard points table. Recognized shows will earn points based on a +1 increment level. Please click here for more information on our new points system.
Minimum number of competitions: Points must be earned in at least three competitions to be eligible for a year-end high score award.
Mini-Maclay – combination with other classes NOT permitted: Effective December 1, 2012, the Mini-Maclay class may NOT be combined with any other equitation class. Exhibitors are cautioned that if any combination is suggested by Show Management or is published as a combined class in a prize list, the points will NOT be counted.
Mini-Stirrup Achievement Level: Effective December 1, 2012, the Mini-Stirrup Equitation Achievement Award points level will be 400 points. Any exhibitor in this division reaching 400 points will receive an Achievement Award at year-end. This change reflects the level of participation in the division.
Level 3 / 4 Jumper Division will no longer be sanctioned for NJHSA points: Effective December 1, 2012, the Level 3 / Level 4 Jumper Division will no longer be sanctioned for NJHSA points. This decision was made due to the lack of participation in this division over the last several years. Shows are free to offer Level 3 / Level 4 classes, but they will no longer be counted for points, even if they are labeled as “NJHSA” in a prize list.
Points from USEF Recognized classes and divisions will not be counted from Unrecognized (Schooling) shows: Effective June 1, 2012, points from Children’s Hunter, Adult Amateur Hunter, Child / Adult Jumpers, and Gold Medal (when run concurrently with USEF or PHA Medal) will not be counted from Unrecognized shows. While Unrecognized (Schooling) shows are free to offer these sections and classes at their shows, NJHSA points will not be accrued from these shows.
